FUTD Phase 3 update - Fanzones, bidding, profile pages and more!
Feedback from our testers continues to shape our game!

Hello!
It’s been a while since our last development update. We’ve been busy!
Our focus is on developing Fantasy Utd in preparation for its full launch ahead of the 2026 Major League Soccer season. We’ve still got a lot to do, but we’re getting there.
Phase 3 of MLS testing is continuing and we’re extremely grateful to our community of committed testers who have put FUTD through its paces this year.
Let’s bring you up to speed on a few things.
Bidding
We have spent a lot of time rebuilding and refining the process of making bids for players.
This includes bidding for players owned by other managers in your league and any negotiation that may come from that.

There is now clearer messaging in the Transfer Tracker in For You to guide you through each stage of making a transfer.
We want the process of building a squad to be as intuitive as possible. We believe we’ve made some good progress on this front.
This is an area where feedback from our Phase 3 testers has influenced us greatly in terms of the design choices we have made.

Of course, managers also have the ability to sell players, not just buy them.
We have also rebuilt this process including a new modal of options in the profile page of each player in your squad.
Managers can sell players to the open market for a lower fee or transfer list them to attract interest from other managers.
Create leagues
Until now, every league in FUTD testing has been admin-created (i.e. - created by us for managers to join).
We have been working on the process and user flow of allowing managers to create their own leagues.
This is obviously a central component of any fantasy sports game. This isn't in testing yet, but will be soon.

Notifications
We are in the process of completely rebuilding our push and in-app notifications.
The push notifications have never worked very well, so we’re starting from scratch. Meanwhile, we’re adding a system of in-app messages.
Between these two methods of communication, we want to give managers all the information they need to stay across all aspects of the game.
Player profiles
We have made some progress in redesigning the player profile pages.
While this process isn’t quite finished yet, hopefully you can see the development of our design language and how we can plug more tiles into this page.

Eventually, player profiles will display information showing how player prices have changed over the course of a season.
There is also some tidying up of the data fields to be done. This will happen soon.
Home page
We don’t really have a home page at the moment. Not a proper one, anyway.
That will obviously change once we launch, so we’re currently designing this page and the user flow that will come from it as users open the app for the first time.
Our core concept is that the home page will change depending on the experience level of the user. A power user in multiple leagues will see something different to a newbie.

As part of the home page userflow, we’re working on something called Fanzones.
These are communities within FUTD for popular podcasts and blogs to call their own. Within each fanzone will be leagues to join and a group chat for fellow listeners/readers etc. to congregate.
We believe these will be a powerful tool to build the sense of community within FUTD.
Boring stuff
A lot of our time at the moment is being consumed by boring stuff we need to do before launch.
The app is already in the Google Play Store. Tick. However, the app is not in the App Store yet (only TestFlight). We're working hard on this.
We are also seeking a payment provider and have a bunch of Company Stuff to do. Not fun, but necessary.
